Another bracelet

Here's a flower bracelet I whipped up yesterday.

I really love crocheting flowers and bracelets. They are quick to make and look so sweet.

Actually I also crocheted four tiny flowers in a row to make a bracelet for Jasmine. The flowers were like the one above, but I used a really skinny wool. They curled in, too. So they looked more like a string of pompoms or lace. It's cute. Unfortunately, Jasmine has managed to lose it last Friday. I'm hoping she misplaced it somewhere at home. But so far, no sign of it.

Oh well, I have to get back to my sewing project.  Will share it when it's done :)

Pink bracelets

I love to crochet and knit. My problem is that I don't have the patience to make big pieces that take forever or that might show the fact that I can't crochet/knit in straight lines ;)

So the other day, when I got an itch to make something, I pondered over what I could make that could give me "instant" gratification. And so it came to me ... bracelets.

I love Nikki Epstein's "Crocheting on the edge". I picked a ruffly design and away I went.

Above my little girl is sporting hers.
And below it's me wearing one.

I love instant gratification!

Monterey road trip

How was your 4th of July?
We hadn't planned a thing for the long weekend. In between our trip to San Diego and our upcoming trip to NYC, I thought we needed a breather. But on Friday, my hubby decided to do a last minute fun trip. We pricelined a hotel in Monterey and 3 hours later we were on our way.

Most of our time was spend in the swimming pool.

We added a bit of beach fun ...

playground excitement (my kids love the huge Dennis the Menace playground!) ...

tree climbing adventure ...

and a side trip to Big Sur

and Cambria.

{Elephant seals molting on the beach.}

{Zebras at Hearst Castle. This is at least the fourth time
that I pass by Hearst Castle and yet it's the first time
that I see these zebras.}

{The "secret fairy garden" behind a garden shop in Cambria,
which is a must visit for us every time we visit.}

I am totally exhausted!
But look at these munchkins. It was totally worth it :)

I hope you had a great weekend, too!
